Whoa, long time no blog.
My weight loss is, well, let’s just say at least I’m not putting any back on! I deviated from the plan and I’m having a little bit of trouble getting focussed again. I think I reach a certain point and get bored; this weekend I shall explore new meal options.
It’s not all bad though; through work i’m participating in a 10,000 step/day challenge. We started on Monday and I’ve hit over 10,000 every day so far! I’m so pleased with myself. During the lead up I wore my pedometer for a couple of days to see what sort of average I was hitting without trying. 4000. Four Thousand. It was a massive wake up call as to just how sedentary I am. Suddenly I had a ‘light bulb’ moment and everything fell in place. No wonder I’m not losing weight if I’m barely moving throughout the day.
Onward I plod armed with my new knowledge and motivation!

I’ve realised in the last couple of days that I’ve gone and done what I always do when I embark on a weight loss mission; start well, see the first sign of result, slack off. I keep deviating from the plan, saying it’s ok because it’s a special occasion or what not. Enough is enough. I really want to succeed this time, I want to step out on my birthday in 5 weeks time and feel fabulous (even though I won’t be at goal 5 weeks is long enough to make a pretty good dint!)
Work has organised a walking challenge beginning next week which runs for 6 weeks in teams of ten where each member has to do 10,000 steps a day. I’m really looking forward to it as it’s great motivation to get back into exercise and I can’t slack off or I’ll let the team down! Sounds worth it to me! I’m hoping a side effect of all this extra walking will be weight loss and general toning. I can’t wait to start!

I’ve been away from the net a little bit over the last few days, so here’s a big entry:
Challenges
- went on a three day course in which lunch was provided daily. I was quite good at lunch and felt that I didn’t pig out on the sandwhiches.
- Being in the city for a few days and only having lunch supplied (and not thinking to bring snacks) caused massive hunger in the evening resulting in the following being consumed: a cinnamon donut, falafel, some fried chicken thing which was small but full of garlic butter.
- Friday night I met up with my friends for drinks which resulted in the consumption of several wines, a Maccas Sunday, a sausage in bread, some chips and a small amount of pizza. Eek.
- Saturday was good in that we were fairly active, however we went to a pizza restaurant for tea and sure enough, I indulged in pizza. Not beating myself up too much over this one though as I’d only had eggs and bacon for breakfast and soup for lunch. I did pay for it weight wise though, I’m hoping it’s a temporary fluctuation as I had been down on the week before until those days.
- Tonight is Father’s Day and we’re taking dad for Indian so I already foresee an over indulgence there. Fortunately I’ve been planning for it though and only had small meals today.
Positive outcomes:
I had a bit of a think this morning whilst doing this weeks meal plan and realised that counting weight watchers points doesn’t necessarily mean you’re eating healthily. I’m eating far too much bread because it’s convenient and far too many cookies because two = 1 point. This weekend I’m trying to steer clear of so much wheat as it bloats me and makes me blah and are going to have oats for breakfast, wholemeal pastrami wraps for lunch and strawberries and yogurt for a sweet snack. This should cut out a lot of the extra sugar and wheat laden carbs I’m eating and allow me to fill up on healthier carbs and with any luck have a nice loss this week!

Whoa, no update since Tuesday? This was largely due to running out of download and being forced onto dial up speed, it made the net rather unappealing until today!
I’m no longer going to post exactly how many points I’ve eaten as I’m tracking them in WW online so it’s pointless duplication.
I am going to continue posting about challenges and goals though.
Weekend Challenges:
We had dinner at my mother in laws which was fantastic but meant I probably overdid the points a little. However I was quite pleased with my restraint and I ate less than I normally would when surrounded by yummy food.
Sunday was more challenging as I had th girls over for a craft day which meant lots of yummy cakes on offer for afternoon tea. Once again I indulged, but didn’t go overboard and felt rather pleased. Dinner at my parents was a bit more difficult as dad made fish and chips. My sister pointed out that I could have not eaten the batter (will remember that for next time!) I did go without dessert given I’d had cake already.
Monday realisation:
A weekend of fattier food than I have been eating of late has left me feeling bloated and gross. Really gross. I’ll remember that next time I reach for the cake. It affected my weigh in too as I was down to 71.8 on Saturday morning, but today was back to 72.1 which resulted in 0 loss this week. Much better than a gain though and next week will be better!

Today’s Points Eaten: 22
Today’s Point’s from Exercise: 1
Total Points: 22
Water:2 glasses
Thoughts for Today
none really, I had to walk to my training session today which was good
Challenges to Learn From
Lunch was provided at the training session which makes it harder to judge points. I stuck to two half sandwiches and chose ones with mainly vegetable fillings.

Today’s Points Eaten: 17.5
Today’s Point’s from Exercise: 0
Total Points: 17.5

Thoughts for Today
I need to start doing a bit more exercise, but ease into it. Tomorrow I have a training course in the city and will have a ten minute walk each way to the place which will help me ease back into walking.
I had eggs and toast for breakfast which proved just as filling as the muesli, but less points.

The weekend was challenging in that we had a BBQ on and dinner at my parents and while I did exceed my points I felt that given the circumstance I ate a lot less than I normally would. I didn’t gorge myself on pre-dinner nibblies and I controlled my eating during dinner.

Today’s Points Eaten: 18.5
Today’s Point’s from Exercise: 0
Total Points: 18.5

Thoughts for Today
Get meat out to defrost in the morning. I got home and was very hungry, but we hadn’t got the meat out. Fortunately we had ingredients on hand and whipped up a low fat pita bread pizza (perfect for a Friday night) but had we not had those ingredients on hand take-away would have looked like a nice option.
Challenges to Learn From
Defrost meat!
Find a lower point breakfast. I feel like my breakfast is devouring too many points!

Today’s Point’s from Exercise: 1.5

Found a Maccas cappuccino alternative; I bought some coffee bags from the supermarket and use low fat milk for a grand total of 1/2 a point! I teamed it up with two weight watchers cookies at 1 point for both and have a yummy treat that’s half the points of the cappuccino.
Also, my new weight watchers cook books arrived today, they look great! I can’t wait to do next weeks meal plan.

None today.
