So the daily posting became a little tedious and went out the window- there were only so many ways to day ‘yesh it’s going well’. Since my last post just over a week ago it’s all gone haywire:
- no fat loss at my weekly weigh in, but I had lost muscle (oh joy)
- problems with my digestion therefore prompting the naturopath to put me on a cleanse for two weeks
- my birthday outings filled with sugar and alcohol breaking my resistance and leaving me with carb cravings
- the scales haven’t moved
The good? I’m getting back on track one meal and exercise session at a time. I moved this week’s appointment out to next week to allow me to get on track and have some results!

Weighing a little heavier today which has me a little bit concerned – maybe doubting myself a little, but not enough to throw me off my aim.
I had my tap class tonight which was lots and lots of fun!
I made the Fibre X up into breakfast muffins for tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what they taste like.

Naturopath appointment today! I’ve lost a total of 2.4kg since I started seeing her two weeks ago! Hooray!
She’s given me some low carb cereal to try this week given I was going to go off the muesli and are a little sick of eggs. She said it’ll take a bit of getting used to which sounds…ominous! I also came away armed with a recipe for a low carb chocky cake! Can’t wait to bake that up.
100g until I get my first 2.5kg loss reward.

Everything is going smoothly this week so there’s not much to report on. Had a lovely Lamb chop casserole tonight. It was delish!

I feel a little sleepy today, but that’s normally me on a Monday. I could be having minor withdrawal from sugar again having had more than I should have on the weekend. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow. I made a fabulous casserole for dinner tonight, I can see it becomming a favourite!

It’s funny but this diet seems to be having a positive effect on other areas of m life. Today I did heaps of organising that I’d been putting off for ages. I just have more motivation and energy right now.
I did the meal plan for the next week and discovered some new recipes to try. The fridge is stocked up with lots and lots of veggies – and we’re using them!

Wow – seven days already!
We went out for lunch and dinner today. I did indulge in dessert, but I also ate a lot less than I normally would. I’m learning some really important things about my relationships with food. It’s become fairly apparent that I’ve been emotionally eating for years (not just when I’m sad either, happy events trigger it too!) and I have made food a bigger part of my life than it should be. Once I’ve finished losing the weight and are on to maintenance I can see that it’s ok to enjoy everything in moderation, but not ok to keep eating the huge portions I’ve been eating and eating out all the time. The good thing about my current diet though is finding healthier things to eat when we are out, having small portions but still feeling satisfied. It’s great.

Today went well. I had my appointment with the naturopath and I’ve lost weight!
My legs are still a bit achey, although it’s hard to say if it’s the detoxing effect of the diet or the extra exercise causing it. Perhaps both.

I feel so much better today. I added a little bit more carbohydrate to my meals (I had muesli for breakfast), but it helped a lot and I feel almost back to normal. I’ve realised a lot of the symptoms I’ve been getting are similar to when I’ve done detoxes in the past- aching mucsles, sore head, foggy brain- then I realised that this kind of is a detox. I’ve cut nearly all processed sugar and carbs out of my diet. Given a huge portion of my diet is normally made up of these foods it is a massive change for my body.
I have an appointment with the naturopath tomorrow. It’ll be interesting to see what she thinks I should do with this…

Today was a little on the stressful side. My feet were still swollen and I panicked and went to the doctor. She thought it would probably be from the big change in diet, but sent me off for blood tests just to be sure. She also recommended I add some complex carbohydrates to my diet and exercise more. I’m going to talk to the naturopath about this approach – while I won’t get the ‘fast fat loss’ she’s aiming for by me going into fat burning mode, I won’t have to deal with these unpleasant emotional side effects, the brain fog, heavy limbs…
I added more carbs back into my diet. I ate a banana and some bread. I don’t feel awful for it, but I’m still very tired and weary.
